Abstract

Sky White Tiger - Realizing a Rock & Roll Sky Mythology

Working closely with the band Sky White Tiger and visual artist Richard Lorig, we created a rock show and visual performance for the Adler Planetarium in July 2010. Working from themes derived from the band’s songs, a series of interrelated stories were explored, and from each of those explorations, a new constellation was born. With the new constellations featuring during every song in the performance, by the end of the evening we created an entirely new sky mythology specific to the music of Sky White Tiger.

 

Biographical Details

Richard Lorig is a freelance scenic designer, children’s book author and incessant doodler. He is currently an instructor and resident designer in the Drama department at Highline Community College in Des Moines, WA.
